We are preparing for the 2008 THE FARM/NAFA OPEN WORLD SERIES to be held
July 25-27 in Middleton(near Madison), Wisconsin at the Bowling Green Softball Complex. The Tournament will use the NAFA 3GG Bracket with no if necessary game. Once the Bracket has been drawn it can be found on our website at
www.Nafafastpitch.com Start Times for each team will be emailed to each coach:
The top two teams in the World, The Farm(Defending Champions) and So. Cal Bombers will be in attendance as will the 2006 Co-Champions Circle Tap and Townline. We are preparing to finish the team list and if you r team is interested in participating you must email Executive Director, Benjie Hedgecock at
Nafafastpitch@gmail.com by June 25th. The Tournament will close when the bracket is full.
We were very excited that last year's tournament was such a great success and expect the 2008 event to be even better.
Games begin Friday Night at 5 pm and continue Saturday beginning at 10 am with the winner's bracket final at 9pm Saturday night and then the final 6 teams begin again on Sunday at 8 am with the Championship Game being scheduled at 2pm on Sunday.
We invite all fastpitch spectators to come join us for some exciting fastball. Spectator Gate, $5 a day for adults and $3 for kids.
The bracket will be seeded evenly based on a combination of the following criteria: 1) Defending Champions, 2) then top seeded teams based on the coaches rankings of each team and 3) Input from the NAFA Executive Committee and Classification Committee. GameWear Team Sports will provide (at no cost) to each winning NAFA World Series team a complete set of 15 custom made uniforms for the Champion. These uniforms will replace the pullover coats we had been giving away but will no longer.
Awards, 1st-5th(2) Team Trophies, 20 All World Selections, MVP, MVPitcher, Medals to top 3 teams, Hats to Champions, RunnerUp Long Sleeve Shirts, 3rd Place Short Sleeve Shirts.
Ball-The NAFA 120 stitch cork center white cover ball will be used.
At the request of the teams there will be no tournament ceremonies.
