Thanks,
Dustin Thiel
Just a bit of an upset this afternoon as our local Supreme Auto Body ball club has beaten the Saskatoon Diamondbacks in the A final of our qualifier by a score of 2 to 1. Winning pitcher Jeff (BO) Thomas and losing pitcher Dean Holoein.
Bert George hit the first pitch of the game for a sole home run to which Supreme added a second in the 4th inning. Lenius for the Diamondbacks hit a solo shot of his own but that was all of the runs that the Diamondbacks could find.
The Diamondbacks has not allowed a run in the tournament to that point going 4-0 in the round robin and semi final games.
Supreme will not be accepting the berth and invitation as they are going to continue to pursue a Western Canadian Championship at the Senior B level.
I have spoken to Colin Shaan and of course, the Diamondbacks will accept the berth. They also have another opportunity as I understand that they are going to the Fargo ND event.
The rest of the scores will be sent to you by Dustin Thiel, our tournament organizer, if he has not already done so.
By the way, the weather was in the early twenty's and sunny so we had a great event weather wise, stayed on time and played some great and some not so great ball but considering that we have lost almost 10 days of ball weather to rain it was just great to get out on the diamond.
