The Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced today the Top 25 Finalists for the 2016 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, which will be announced at the opening of the 2016 NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS) in Oklahoma City. The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, which is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I women’s collegiate softball, recognizes the outstanding athletic achievement by female players across the country.

The sophomore was dominant for Oklahoma all week, pitching 21-consecutive scoreless innings on the week while picking up three Big 12 Conference wins against then-No. 18 Baylor.Â
Oklahoma City, OK - Florida reclaims the top spot in ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Collegiate Poll
Just one week after falling two spots in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, the Florida Gators (38-3, 12-3 SEC) have reclaimed the No. 1 spot following an undefeated week on the road, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced today.  This move comes after last week’s top team, Michigan (29-4, 7-2 Big Ten), went 2-1 in a Big Ten road series at unranked Nebraska. The Gators return to the top after receiving eight-of-20 first-place votes, while Michigan received three votes, Auburn (37-4, 9-3 SEC) received five votes, Alabama (35-7, 8-4 SEC) received three and Louisiana-Lafayette (32-3, 13-1 Sun Belt) received the final one first-place vote.
