Softball Canada President Kevin Quinn attended the XVII WBSC Americas Softball Ordinary Assembly in Valencia, Venezuela this past weekend (April 1-3). Following three days of meetings, an election was held for positions on the Board of Directors of the regional softball organization formerly known as CONPASA (Pan American Softball Confederation), with Quinn being re-elected North American Vice-President.

Oklahoma City, OK - Six teams claim stake on No. 1 spot in ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Collegiate Poll
Jumping ahead to the No. 1 spot for the first time this season is the Michigan Wolverines (27-3, 5-1 Big Ten), who won their Big Ten Conference series against Indiana this past week, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced today. Â After seven-straight weeks of seeing the Florida Gators (34-3, 9-3 SEC) atop the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, Michigan claimed a majority of first-place votes, with six different schools earning at least one first-place vote. Michigan received nine-of-20 first-place votes, while Florida earned five and Auburn (33-4, 9-3 SEC) with three. Alabama (31-7, 5-4 SEC), Louisiana-Lafayette (29-3, 10-1 Sun Belt) and James Madison (30-2, 6-0 CAA) all garnered one vote each.

Two-time defending champions Argentina have been drawn in the same pool as hosts United States for the 2016 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Junior Men's Softball World Championship in Midland.

The 11th Junior Men’s World Championship will be held in Midland, Michigan, USA, from July 24-30.  With all WBSC World Championships now being held as open tournaments, the 2016 Junior Men’s Championship will showcase the junior level of men’s fastpitch development across the world.Â
The European Softball Federation is proud to confirm that three European national teams will compete in Michigan: the Czech Republic, Denmark and Israel -- three of the top four teams from last year’s Junior Men’s European Championship played in Most, Czech Republic.
