Oklahoma City, OK - Nations and pools unveiled for the 2016 WBSC Junior Men's World Championship
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has unveiled the field of nations for the 11th WBSC Junior Men’s (Under-19) Softball World Championship (JMWC), to be held July 24-30 in Midland, Mich. Held at historic Emerson Park and Currie Stadium, 13 nations from all five regions will compete for the highest prize in Junior Men’s international softball.

Oklahoma City, OK - Kent State's Holly Speers earns Player of the Week honors after record-setting consecutive home runs
After breaking the NCAA record for most consecutive home runs, Kent State’s Holly Speers (Surrey, B.C.) has been selected as the Week 7 USA Softball Collegiate National Player of the Week, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced today. A sophomore infielder, Speers batted .714 with five home runs, 10 RBI, seven runs and seven walks over a four-game stretch last week, which also earned her Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division Player of the Week accolades. This marks the first USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week honors for Speers, who helped her team improve to 20-7 on the season.

Keeping their hold onto the No. 1 spot in this week’s ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 is Florida (33-1, 8-1 SEC), who went 3-0 on the road this past week against LSU, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced today. This marks the seventh-straight week this season the Gators have been voted No. 1, capturing 19-of-20 first-place votes, while No. 4 Louisiana-Lafayette earned the remaining first-place vote.

Christchurch, NZ - Canterbury get revenge in Southern Cross softball final
The Canterbury Red Sox avenged an earlier defeat to the Junior Black Sox by edging the New Zealand under-19 softball team  1-0 in the Southern Cross Challenge softball tournament final.
Canterbury had their Australian import Ryan Merriman to thank for driving in the winning run in the men's division final in Christchurch on Sunday.

The International Softball Congress is pleased to announce that it will showcase an U21 Championship as part of the ISC World Tournament being held in Quad Cities, IA-IL in August.
Running over the final three days of the 2016 ISC World Tournament at the Green Valley Softball Complex in Moline, Illinois from Thursday August 18 to Saturday August 20, the games will feature the stars of tomorrow with all players being made up of players born in or after 1995.
Christchurch, NZ - Christchurch calls Queenslander softballer home for Southern Cross tournament
Australian softball international Carmelle Sorensen​ will return home to Christchurch for the Southern Cross Challenge tournament this weekend.
The 26-year-old grew up in Christchurch and represented the New Zealand White Sox as a 16-year-old at the 2006 world championships in China before moving to Brisbane to study.
Sorensen, a catcher or third base, has been named in the Australian team for the 2016 world championships in Canada in July where she will play against the White Sox.
