Not before striking out 13 of the 15 batters he faced. Rutherflo's offence was on full display during game #2. Sonny McCue, Mark Langley and Abe Leahy hit back to back to back Home runs. What was more impressive then the feat of three home runs in a row. This was the fact that each one was hit farther than the previous. Highlights
Rutherflo met back up with Enterprise who had to take the long way back to the Championship. Enterprise had already won 3 games on the day before they met up with Rutherflo for the 3pm final. Much like the game they played the previous day it was a close game with both pitchers matching each other early on. Rutherflo 2bagger John Langley gave his team an early lead with a single in the 3rd to score Benson. Strong pitching kept the game close and multiple diving plays by Rutherflo Short Stop Aaron Benson preserved the one run lead heading in to the 5th. A creative Pep talk from 3rd Base Coach Evan Loucks was all that was needed to wake up the bats as Rutherflo proceeded to score 8 runs in the 5th inning. The big inning was capped off by a Monster 2 Run blast from Mark Langley that halted play on the back ball diamond where the ball landed. That was more than enough support for Luke Leahy as he finished his second Shutout. With Rutherflo being up by more than 7 runs after 5 innings of play the game was called due to the Mercy Rule.
FINAL SCORE- 9-0 Rutherflo
