Memorials Revision
Minor Boys
Softball Current Rule:
Association A player signed to a Midget U18 team certificate is eligible to play Junior U21 under the above circumstances, in the same affiliated centre as the Midget U18 team with which the player is signed (or in the next affiliated Junior centre, if no affiliated Junior U21 in the home centre) with the approval of his/her Midget U18 coach.
Revision:
A Junior U21 team is allowed to affiliate a maximum of three Midget U18 players as long as they have roster space and they can come from anywhere as long as their home centre agrees to the release if they have a registered midget team, or if no midget team exists, the closest registered Junior U21 team. A player cannot be refused a release by the closest Junior U21 team if that team has no roster space and if the release is refused then the refusing Junior U21 team must place that Midget U18 player on their roster. All minor rules are in place to ensure participation at their appropriate age group stay in effect ie OR 4.3 A) iv.
Rationale: This revision is necessary to allow more Midget U18 aged players the opportunity to participate at the Junior U21 level as well as possibly get more Junior U21 teams formed and affiliated if they could get eligible players.
