New Zealand A draw test series with Australia Development
Thursday December 7th 2006
The New Zealand A men’s softball team flies home from Australia tonightleft to rue what might have been after two losses in games played lastnight saw the four game test series against Australia Development tied.
Going into the games last night as Hawker International Softball Complex,Canberra the New Zealand A team held a 2-0 series lead and only requiredone more win to take the series outright. However the AustraliaDevelopment team fought hard last to pick up two wins.
Australia Development won the first game 7-6 and then continued that formwith a 6-3 win in the final encounter.
The New Zealand A team has been on tour in Australia for the past week. They opened the tour with mixed results in the Canberra Skins tournamentand then after starting strongly in the test series against AustraliaDevelopment they faltered on the final day.
The team has packed up their bags now and is in the process of travellinghome. They are due to arrive in Auckland later this evening.
