About the Host
The Town of Tavistock is found within the County of Oxford in the heart of Southwestern Ontario. Within a short drive you can find yourself in the cities of Stratford, Kitchener and Woodstock.
The Town of Tavistock is home to 2,500 people and the township of East Zorra Tavistock has 6,836 people living within its borders, according to the 2011 Census. With access to a population of 300.000 within a 30 minute drive, there is unlimited potential for great knowledgeable fans to attend the 2016 U21 Men's Canadian Fast Pitch Championship.
With one of the biggest minor softball associations in the surrounding area there is a great loyal foundation of young players really excited to see the top ball players compete in Tavistock this summer.
Â
Softball Canada
Canada has long been considered one of the top Male Fastpitch countries in the World, garnering 11 medals (4 Gold, 5 Silver, 2 Bronze) at the Men's level and 7 more (1 Gold, 2 Silver, 4 Bronze) at the Junior Men's level. Softball Canada's goal is to reinvigorate the Male Faspitch division to sustain that success.
Since the Male Fastpitch Review Committee was established, several major successes have been achieved in this area, such as the addition of the U14 and U16 Boys Canadian Championships, the inclusion of Men's Softball in the 2017 and 2021 Canada Summer Games, and the Canadian Men's National Team being crowned World and Pan Am Games Champions in 2015.
