Wellington/Hutt Valley Inter-city competition

Porirua City United have gone to the top of the table in Men's Intercitysoftball competition after they won both games of their double headeryesterday.
In the early game at Porirua park they were taken to the tie breaker byHutt City United before winning 4-3. In their second game of theday, there was another close encounter before they defeated Kapiti5-4.
At Hataitai park Miramar came from 2-1 down in the top of the fifthinnings to defeat old rivals Poneke Kilbirnie 9-2 with Wayne Laulu inoutstanding form with the bat picking up three hits from four turnsat bat including a automatic home run.
In the bottom six section, Royals caused an upset when they defeatedCardinals 4-1 while Newlands had 8-4 win over Dodgers and Hutt ValleyMarist just got home over Johnsonville 3-2.
Te Aroha remain unbeaten in the top six of the women's after theydefeated Johnsonville 9-7 whilst Wainui had a 10-2 win over Saints.
At Hataitai park former White Sox pitcher Ruta Lealamana had great day onthe mound when she pitched a perfect game for Miramar not giving up anyhits or any walks in a 13-0 win over Porirua City United in fiveinnings.
In section two Hutt City United had their first win of the season whenthey defeated Poneke Kilbirnie 10-6 while Newlands continue their recentgood form with a 14-1 win over Tawa.
