Shamrocks Bring Home the Bacon
The Dolan and Murphy Shamrocks of Aurora, Il swept the Hustle Hogs of Dekalb, Il (7-2,12-4) in a season opening double header on Saturday. In game one the Shamrocks bats started a little rusty after a long off season but proved that it would not last long. Brian Tobin and Cooper Cason lead the offensive charge both going 2 for 3 and having one RBI each. Jarod Gutesha also picked up an RBI triple, and David Schuett drove a single to right giving him his first RBI of the season.
In the Circle Jason Iuli dominated the Hogs line up throwing a 3 hit (2 to Matt Smith, and 1 to Tommy Crouch) complete game, while picking up 11 strike outs to begin his season.

In Game 2 the Shamrocks tagged starting pitcher Tim Murphy with 11 hits and 13 runs. Jarod Gutesha proved why he lead the 05’ season in homeruns going 3 for 3 with 2 HR’s and a double, resulting in 4 RBI’s . David Perkins and Brian Tobin both batted .500 and picked up 2 RBI’s each. Mike ‘Father Time” Drew showed that age is nothing but a number when it comes to fastball, hitting a triple to left and picking up an RBI in the process. The game of fastball looks like it is going to be really nice to up-and-coming Jay Lavender who was smashing the ball, but only 1 landed into an RBI single. David Schuett showed no signs of slowing down going 2 for 3.
On the mound Brian Tobin hurled a complete game giving up 4 runs on 8 hits and striking out 2 while only giving up 1 walk.
