85th OASA Annual General Meeting

On Saturday, November 24, 2007, the OASA held their 85th Annual General Meeting in Cobourg Ontario. With a great number of people in attendance, the following were elected.

3 Teams were recognized for their outstanding finishes at Canadians and Eastern Canadians. Stratford Memorials won the Gold at PeeWee Eastern Canadians, Stouffville Storm won the Gold at Bantam Eastern Canadians and Scarborough Wolverines won the Gold at the Junior Canadians. We are very proud of all of our winning teams. Many of them were in attendance to receive a special certificate.
No hitter awards were presented to Michael Lagace-Roote, Stratford Memorials PeeWee, Reid Russell (2), Napanee Express Mite, Riley Manion (2), Napanee Express Jr. Mite, Andrew Raisbeck, Newmarket Stingers Bantam and Corey Alkerton, Orleans Rebels Midget. Congratulations.
Scholarships were presented to Ryan Mitts of Oshawa and Matt Allen of Kingston. Congratulations and best of luck in your studies.
The Gil Read Coaches Honour Roll was presented to 2 coaches, Richard Venne of the Scarborough Wolverines and Rob Way of the Waterloo Twins. The Association Award was presented to the Waterloo Minor Fastball Association.
The Feaver Award was presented to Bill O'Neill of Cobourg.
Approximately 150 people enjoyed the banquet and helped to celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the OASA and the 50th Anniversary of Cobourg Legion Minor Softball. Our thanks go out to CLMS for a great AGM and Convention.
