UBC TO START SOFTBALL PROGRAM
NORTH YORK,ONTARIO- Softball Ontario is pleased to share information about theformation of University of British Columbia Women's softball team for the2008-09 school year, initially playing as a club team and progressing to fullvarsity status in 2009-10. UBC is seeking candidates for the position of headcoach for a one year term commencing in March 2008. This is a part-timeposition initially, and may become full-time the following year. The team willcommence training this fall and will play an exhibition spring schedule. TheThunderbirds will play in the NAIA or NCAA Division II in 2009-10, pending adecision to apply for NCAA status by the university. UBC is looking for a headcoach who has experience in the areas of recruiting and team development, aswell as demonstrated results in team performance. This position will report tothe Friends of UBC Softball Society in the first year. The position will befunded by the university in 2009-10 and beyond.
