CANADA SECURES MEDAL AT JR MEN'S
WHITEHORSE, YUKON - Shane Boland of Newfoundland and Labrador scored the game winning run on a bottom of the seventh RBI single by Terrell Walker as Canada secured a medal at the ISF JR MEN'S WORLD SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS with a thrilling 2-1 win over New Zealand.
The win means three Nova Scotia players, and the team's head coach will be bringing home no less then bronze when they return. Patrick Avery of Larry's River, Aaron Long of Guysborough and Adam Day of Enfield are on the team, coached by Middle Musquodobit native Tom Doucette.
Dustin Keschane struck out 11 Kiwi hitters. He had 16 in a no hitter against Team USA Friday night to give him 27 strikeouts in 15 innings of work.
