Team Easton to face Stittsville in Greater Ottawa Fastball League finals
OTTAWA, ON - The two teams in the best-of-five finals for the Greater Ottawa Fastball League have now been determined.
First place finisher Ottawa, ON Team Easton (21-2-2), playoff champions of the league for the last five years, will face the second place Stittsville, ON 56ers (18-6-3) for the I4C Consulting Trophy. This is a rematch of the 2005 and 2006 finals, both won by Team Easton three games to one.
In the regular season, Team Easton won two games, with the third game between the two rivals a tie.
Dan Konkle, pitching for Team Easton has a perfect 5-0 record in the 2008 playoffs and allowing just 3 runs over 29 innings of work. Dan Bradley has been the workhorse for Stittsville with a 5-2 record this playoff season.
Team Easton swept their semi-finals series against Carp, ON I4C Victory in three straight.
Stittsville had a tougher time with the scrappy Quyon, QC COMBAT Flyers going the distance in their five game series. In every game, the home team prevailed, with three going into extra innings.
