IT’S TIMETO RECOGNIZE YOUR SOFTBALL COACH!
NORTHYORK, ON- The Coaching Association of Ontario is looking fornominations from local softball associations for the Ontario CoachingExcellence Awards aim to recognize the outstanding achievements andsignificant contributions softball coaches have made to both theirassociations and softball players in Ontario. The selection of recipients isbased on their unique contribution to softball through continuous development.The awards do not reflect the accomplishments of a softball coach in anyone-year; rather the award is designed to recognize the contributions a coachhas made over a period of years.
There are fivecategories of awards representing the different levels ofsoftball. In each category both males and female coacheswill be recognized:
- Recreational / GrassRoots Category
- DevelopmentalCategory
- School SportCategory (selected by OFSAA)
- High PerformanceCategory
- Investor’s GroupVolunteer Sport Administrator Award- This award is given to an outstandingvolunteer who has dedicated their time to developing and supporting softballcoaches and in their community.
NominationProcess:
A hard copy forms canbe obtained at the CAO office (suite 108). To be eligible for an OntarioCoaching Excellence Award, a coach must coach amateur athletes, and have aminimum of two years coaching experience in Ontario. The nominated coach mustalso consent to the nomination.
All complete nominationforms, and any supporting documents (i.e. letters of reference, news articles,etc.) must be received by Friday, January 9, 2009 at 4:00p.m.
