SOFTBALL ONTARIO NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Softball Ontario’s Participation Program attends events stretching across the province from Windsor to North Bay. Attending community events across Ontario is a great way to promote the game of Softball to those who may not have played before; however, it takes many volunteers to make these events happen.
Volunteer opportunities are available for events across the province. Upcoming events include:
- Learn to Play with Team Canada June 17, 2006 Kitchener
- Canada Day at Queen’s Park July 1, 2006 Toronto
- KidSport FunZone July 1, 2006 North Bay
- The World Fastball Tournament June 29 to July 2, 2006 Monkton
- Casino Rama World Series of Fastball July 13 to 16, 2006 Orilia
- Novice National Softball Championships August 13, 2006 Brantford
- Midget National Softball Championships August 13, 2006 Guelph
- Bantam National Softball Championships August 20, 2006 St. Catharines
Softball Ontario is happy to provide volunteers with a small cash allowance in return for their much needed assistance. Hours volunteered can be applied to the Mandatory Community Involvement required for High School students. All ages are welcome to volunteer, however only those 13 years of age and older will qualify for the cash allowance.
Community Events consist of interactive booths designed to let children try Softball and to promote the game. Volunteers are not required to instruct the participants on Softball skills.
Softball Ontario has additional volunteer opportunities at events scheduled throughout the year. For more information, or to volunteer for an event, please contact Lisa Crompton at 416-426-7150 or email lcrompton@softballontario.ca.
