The 2009 ISC World Tournament in Quad Cities will be shortened from 9 to 8-days due to having only 24-teams in the tournament. The tournament will still begin on Friday, August 14 but will end on Friday, August 21 rather than Saturday, August 22 . This change is being made with the approval of the host, Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau. Saturday, August 22 will become the "rain day" in the event weather forces an extension.
The ISC II Tournament of Champions is not affected bythis change in World Tournament dates. It will still run from Tuesday, August 18 to Saturday, August 22 at Campbell Complex in Rock Island, IL.
Some other important points:
* The World Tournament Opening Ceremonies will still be held on Saturday evening, August 15.
* The Hall of Fame induction breakfast will stillbe held on Sunday morning, August 16.
The status of the 4-team Boys 18U tournament is unknownat this time but we will announce its details at a later date.
We hope making this announcement now will give teams, fansand umpires enough advance notice to purchase plane tickets properly. Theairport in Moline, IL is the preferred destination for air travelers.
