In spite of the rain this was a well played tournament. Big Kudos to the grounds crew they worked their tails off keeping the diamonds playable. This could have been the best scorers I have ever had at any World Tournament. They worked long hours having to endure numerous rain delays. As Usual
Becky Rassmussen
was spectacular she has always been the best. I knew none of the others before the tournament. Glen Cook was new to me and I soon knew I could trust his scoring.
Shawn Temple and
Sue Klingaman worked several games each as well as one other gentleman who name escapes me. They were all excellent. The only fault they had was not putting their names on the recap sheets. My sincere thanks to all of them for their hard work. The pork chops were great so it was a good tournament for me. The games were well played. Lots of low scoring well pitched games. Many great defensive plays. Calum Gardner from Vancouver made a catch in the outfield that should have been on ESPN highlights.
Again thanks to all the folks who worked so hard to make this years World Tournament a success. If
Larry Koberg is involved you know it will be a well ran tournament.
Lynn Hunt spent many hours at the yard doing whatever they needed. These are just few of the hard workers. I know I am leaving out many people who worked very hard for that I appolgize. Hope to see you all in Midland next year. I know they will be working hard to put on a great show. I was last there in 1991 for someone elses event and they did a great job with that so I see no reason they won't be just as good or better next year. Gary
