The Niagara Falls playoffs started last night with two barnburners. The Storms Fury defeated Hooligans Dawgs by a score of 1-0 in 9 innings to start the night off. Scott Wagar was dominant for the Fury with 23 strikeouts and allowing one hit, a single by Nick Zappitelli. Joe Parker threw a great game for the Dawgs allowing six hits and keeping the Fury off balance all night. Ray Carr led off the ninth with a double and an error allowed him to third. After an intentional walk Mark Korten cashed Carr for the win. Carr and Wagar had two hits each for the Fury.
Game two had the Red Hot Chili Pepper and Danny Duemo defeat Cool Hand Luke 1-0. The hard luck losing pitcher for Lukes was Ron Winger. Darrin Newsome cashed the run with a double.
Game two's go next Tuesday Sept 15th with game three's if necessary going Thursday the 17th.
