OASA Springboard Clinics set for Kitchener Saturday April 24th

George Ryder and Bruce Young, OASA minor chair, have worked hard on
organizing the OASA Springboard Clinic set for this Saturday April
24th at Huron Heights Secondary School in Kitchener southwest corner.
George and Bruce have recruited some fine instructors from local
senior and intermediate teams to show these young ball players how to
improve their game.
Doug Neil along with Hallman Rivershark Twin Don Scott and Elmira
Erb Electric Expo Danny Martin will give the pitchers attending some
great guidance. Former Hallman R-Twin and now Midland Michigan catcher
Craig Crawford will bring some of his Team Canada "behind the plate"
catching secrets to the clinic.
Other instructors include Sam Forbes and Jodie and Jay Schnarr
formerly of the Bridgeport Braves, now playing for Cobourg. Tex
Lessard of the St Thomas Centennials, Brandon Horn of the Jarvis
Gamblers both amoung the best ball players in Canada and will be on
hand as well.
Coaches will have a strategy session as well under the guidance of
three outstanding local coaches. Al Staats coached the Jarvis
Gamblers to the silver medal in last years Canadian Fastball
championships in St Thomas. Joining Al are Dan Lauzon head coach of
the Waterloo Hallman Junior Twins and George Ryder, who is co-chair of
this OASA clinic.
Scorekeepers are going to be instructed in the latest OASA tournament
scorekeeping skills at two clinics as well.
George and Bruce are expecting a few exhibition booths will be set up
as well.
Huron Heights is located at 1825 Huron Road, Kitchener, Huron Road
and Strasburg.
