Thanks to all teams who made the trek down to Niagara for he weekend and really supported the tournament all weekend, we the league are really appreciative of the great support from our friends in fastpitch accross southern Ontario. Thanks to the coaches and managers for organizing your teams, the volunteers who give up their weekend for us especially Al Greatrix who keeps things in order all weekend. Vandenberg Meats and GNBA who run food and concessions, the City Staff, Jerry Dracs UIC and all the Blue Crew who did a fantastic job all weekend and of course all the players. As always Al thanks for keeping the fastpitch community continuously informed.

Final in nine innings

lp - Ryan Swift
Target - HR Trevor Moses
Wild game, Oshawa up 3-1 going into 7th. Targets Treveo Moses hits a HR in top 7th to get Target going. With two out an Oshawa error keeps inning alive and gives pinch hitter Larry Whitwell a chance to drive in the go ahead runs, which he does with a two out double to the gap. Target lead now 5-3 going into the B7 and Oshawa responds with two of thier own to tie things up on a two run single by Joe Triest. Game goes to ninth inning where Target score the winner via international rule and Bombers can't cash in the bottom.

A Final
Niagara Snappers 1
Niagara Fury 0
wp -Andy Jackson
lp - Doug Hoffman
Snap - Ron Webb HR, Trevor Falk and Kevin Newhouse singles
Fury - Rob Greatrix 2 hits, Tommy Watkinson, Joe McMaster and Phil John hit each
As reported earlier a great final to wrap the tournament up. Great defense and great pitching made this one a classic. Andy Jackson and Doug Hoffman throw gems. The Fury would have runners at first and third with none out in the T1 and could not push a run across and that would hurt as Ronny Webb hits a solo shot in the fifth to give the Snappers all they would need. Jackson was toughest when he needed to be as Fury left runners in scoring position in four of the innings. Watkinson led off the 7th with a single but the Fury again could not get the timely hit and eventually stranded the tying run at third.
Congratulations to Niagara Snappers on winning the 2010 NF tournament. The Snappers and Fury have a nice little rivalry going peppered with great games between the two and this one was another, thanks to both teams with providing great fastpitch for the final game.
As with all tournament although it was a great weekend we know we can do things to improve and we thank you for any suggestions to help us do so, its difficult to keep everyone happy but were trying our best. Some scores below from Saturday that were not reported, again thanks to all that took part, good luck with the remainder of your seasons.
