Undefeated North Stars dump the the Whitefish Lake First Nation Falcons 9-2
It took the North Stars only three frames to score 6 runs and win going away against the Falcons . Once again John Ainslie ( 7-0) went the distance for the winners scattering 7 hits while striking out 4 Falcons hitters and issuing 2 base on balls . Troy Nootchtai (1-3)n started for the Falcons and was tagged with his third loss and relieved in the the third inning. Justin Nootchtai(0-0) relieved him in the third frame . .Both hurlers combine to give up 14 hits while fanning 2 batters and issuing 2 base on balls . Lanny Fichette and Mike Cain from the North Stars led all hitters going 2 for 3 Kirk Pettategoose hit 2 for 3 in a losing cause for the Falcons .
Pickerel River defeats Swick Hounds of Garson 5-1
The Swick Hounds of Garson continued their losing woes with a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Pickerel Cardinals . Jonathan Contin (5-1) picked up his 5th mound victory putting together seven excellent innings as he gave up but three hits while striking out 9 batters for leaguer high total of 64 and issued but one single base on balls . Gary Lamothe (0-6) went the distance for the loss and is still looking for his first win . Gary gave up 9 hits while fanning 7 batters but not issuing a single base on balls . Craig Brown(double) and Jonathan Contin(triple) from the Cardinals led all hitters both going 2 for 3 while Corey Farmer hit 1 for 2 in a losing cause for the Hounds .
Cardinals move within 2 points of first with a 4-1 victory over the Falcons
In a tight defensive tilt , the Cardinals now 6 and 3 defeated the Whitefish Lake Falcons 4 to 1 and moved to within two points of first place North Stars . Young Chris Vanvelkanburg (1-1) picked up his first win of the season pitching a three hitter while striking out 9 batters and issuing but one single base on balls . His counterpart Troy Nootchtai (1-3) pitched well in being tagged for his third loss of the season giving up but 4 hits , striking out 4 batters and issuing 3 base on balls . Ed “Shaq” Panamick Jr led all hitters going 2 for 3 (double) with teammates Eric Ashawasagai hitting a solo shot to left field and Jonathan Contin stroking a 3 run bomb to left field while Troy Nootchtai hit 2 for 2 in a losing cause for the Falcons .
League play will resume on Monday night June the 27th at the Rick McDonald Memorial Complex in Azilda when the Swick Hounds of Garson(1-6) search for answers to get a victory in taking on the Whitefish Lake Falcons (2-7) at 7 PM and that will be followed by the 6 and 3 Pickerel River Cardinals taking on the undefeated Sudbury North Stars (7-0) for the nightcap at 9PM under the lights .

All games to be played at the Rick McDonald Memorial Complex in Azilda
There will be a ladies division if we have four teams or more
There will be a masters division ( 37 and over with pitcher having to be 40+) if we have 4 teams or more
In the men’s open division prize money will be determined on 8 entered teams or more
