2011 Special Olympics/ISC Game
August 8, 2011
Quad Cities, IA/IL
Moline, IL
I'm happy to announce the details of the Special Olympics/ISC exhibition game that will be part of the 2011 World Tournament. For the 4th year in a row, our players and teams have a chance to give a local group of softball players a great experience and add to their season.
There will be over 20 Special Olympics players ready to take on the best that the ISC has to offer. Last year in Midland, we had our best turnout ever, and I'm challenging everyone to make this year out biggest and best ever. The ISC Umpiring Crew and the Maccabi USA team (even though they aren't attending) are once again stepping up and providing a surprise to the Special Olympics players.
Anyone and everyone who is associated with a team participating in the 2011 ISC is welcome to come out and be part of this great event. If you've played before, you know that it will be a highlight of your season. If you haven't had a chance, please take this opportunity to be part of a growing tradition - it is most definitely time well spent.
As in years past, I would ask that any ISC team, player, umpire or official who has a new hat, t-shirt, or piece of equipment that they'd like to donate to the Special Olympics team to either get it to me prior to the game or bring it to the park.
Date: Wednesday, August 17th
Time: 6:30 p.m
Location: Greenvalley Sports Complex - Please meet near the concession stand at the main diamond about 6:15 p.m. The Special Olympics team will be introduced on the main field and we'll move to the field that the game will be played on.
Let's make the 2011 game a classic!
