UPDATE - January 17, 2012
As of today, January 17, I have informed Ken Hackmeister and Alex Linares that with great regret I will not be making the trip to Orlando for the AAU tournament this year.
This was a difficult decision to make however on the advice of my physio therapist we have decided it would be wise to continue with the healing and the physio therapy for awhile longer and to avoid any travel.
My operation was two months ago yesterday and the healing is coming along as predicted however there is a great deal of work (healing) to be done yet.
It should be noted however that AlsFastball will be posting ALL game results the same as we always do based on what is sent to us by Ken Hackmeister who is ably assisted by a number of our ISC and AAU friends who will be enjoying some time in the sun in Orlando.
BallParkRadio will also not make the trip this year due to work obligations.
I wish I could be there with all the fans and players I look forward to seeing each January but its not to be for this year so please, good luck, good ball, great Florida weather. Enjoy it!
Al
AlsFastball will have a couple of periods in November where
our service will be down for a few days.
(My operation was pushed back from Oct 11 to Nov 16)
We will be forwarding some news stories to
NEWS-2 from our BlackBerry. Only news items received at
fastball(at)pmihrm.com will be forwarded to
NEWS-2. This service has a few drawbacks including the fact any news posted cannot be changed and it cannot be removed, its there for life; there is also a time delay for things we send to this service and it does not format columns at all.
On November
16 we are going into hospital for surgery and
AlsFastball will be totally shut down until at least November
24.
Please do not send attachments to
fastball(at)pmihrm.com at any time, especially during the November shutdown.
All attachments should be directed to
aldoran42(at)yahoo.com however we cannot gurantee we will get to them during the month of November.
Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause our regulars who post fastball news to our site. We hope we will be back up and operational after the interuption and back in full swing by November 24, working towards getting ready for AAU in Orlando in January 2012.
Please continue to read and support our good friends at
FastpitchWest
thanks
I will keep you posted.
thanks

Nov 16 - surgery.
Nov 26 - released from hospital.
Dec 2 - removed staples.
Dec 6 - first physio - that did not go well - caused internal bleeding.
Dec 18 - getting ready to go back to the hospital to find out how much damage the therapist caused.
We are NOT yet back to business as usual at AlsFastball but thanks for all the notes of get well and concern.
Will keep you posted - Most items sent to us have been posted to NEWS-2 while some has been posted right to AlsFastball but if we missed you, apologies, please send it again.
Dec 19 - full day in Sunnybrook Holland for post op. Full series of xrays and meetings with doctor and head of physio. No permanent damage done during the Dec 3 physio, but a set back by roughly 3 weeks.
Dec 20 - Back to physio twice a week. We are on
AlsFastball for updates an hour or two a day depending on physio schedule. We are doing a lot more updates just to
NEWS-2 via the blackberry.
We have started the
2012 Tournament List but if we posted your tournament and its not on the list yet, please send me a reminder. We will get caught up with things soon, we hope!
Dec 23 - We are by no means back to a normal schedule, but we are trying to spend at least an hour each morning on the computer catching up on the hundreds of emails we get each day.
I am using the blackberry to filter out the spam and junk and saving the good stuff for posting when I get onto my desk top computer.
Hopefully everyone is getting ready for the two big things coming our way soon, Christmas Day on December 25 when I hope absolutely every one who follows AlsFastball is with family and friends for a fantastic Merry Christmas!
We have not made firm plans yet for the trip as my rehab is going a lot slower than I had hoped, but we have not ruled out making the trip just yet.
This thread started in September when we were moving the home office and carried on through November with surgery and now well into December while we are on the road to recovery.
December 31, 2011 - Happy New Year Everyone!
Many thanks for the Get Well Cards, very much appreciated. We are on the slow road to recovery. Physio two days a week and hope to get out of the house a bit more often very soon.
