Softball Ontario, Coaches Association of Ontario host NCCP Competition- Introduction, Softball What to Coach
TORONTO, ON - Softball Ontario is pleased to announce its partnership with the Coaches Association of Ontario to host a National Coaching Certification Program Competition-Introduction, Softball (What to Coach) on February 23-24, 2013.

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training and certification program for 66 different sports and is offered is both official languages across Canada. NCCP workshops are designed to meet the needs of all types of coaches, from a first-time coach to the head coach of the national team. The NCCP is recognized as the national standard for coach training and certification in Canada. As a part of the program, all coaches are trained in ethical decision-making and sport safety. Softball Ontario is the provider of the NCCP Program for the sport of Softball in the Province of Ontario.
Both Organizations have joined forces to offer NCCP Context: Competition - Introduction, Softball – What to Coach 16 hours (1st weekend of 3 weekends).

If your team is participating in an U14 and above Provincial Championships for Provincial Women’s Softball Association or Ontario Amateur Softball Association or Softball Canada Canadian Championship, or Ontario Rural Softball Association for Ontario Summer Games, this clinic is the first stage of the requirements.

The goals of this course are to promote fun, fitness, fundamentals and performance among the beginning and intermediate coaches who are either coaching youths and/or adults. What to Coach - 17.5 hours (1st Weekend) How to Coach - 16 hours (2nd Weekend) On-Field Evaluation - 2 hours (3rd Weekend) Preparation - 6 hours

This course replaced the Level 1 and Level 2 Technical/Practical and Theory courses of the old knowledge based program. An evaluation is required as well.
Softball Ontario and the Coaching Association of Ontario are looking to recruit a minimum of twelve (12) Softball coaches by February 15, 2013 in order to host this clinic in 2013, so please apply today!
