Big Rock Invitational in Mt Vernon, WA -- 74 year old Mike Trotter of Eagle Point, Oregon, hobbling around on knees with multiple operations and pitching in his 6th decade, shut down JRW & Associates for 4 innings, allowing 3 hits, one unearned run and striking out 4. Jason Wright finished up in K-Club's 8-1 victory. Â Later that day, Mike pitched for his old club - Old Growth/Rose City Merchants of Portland, OR in the Consolation Championship. Trotter lasted until the 5th inning in an eventual 11-6 loss to Ivory Headwear of Portland, OR. Rice Lake, WI -- 77-year old Lyle Lieffring returned to the Red Cedar Men’s Fastpitch League pitcher circle for the first time since June 16, 2010. His return was a successful one as his Shaun Carr Agency/Tobaggon Run Dental Oredockers downed GB Sales/Independent Sanitation and Recycling 16-2. The game was 1 of 3 interdivisional matchups, the final round of such games on the 2013 schedule.          Leiffring limited his opponents to 2 hits, singles by Brandon Christian and Travis Larson, and a lone walk in hurling the win and also batted 3 times collecting a walk, suffering a strike out, and hitting into a fielder’s choice.  Ronn Kopp NAFA President
