The Minesing Mallards captured the Simcoe Rural Fastball League Championship Monday night with a victory over the Wyevale Tribe. The win brings the trophy back to Springwater Township for the first time since 2009.
Minesing earned a bye through the first round of playoffs by finishing first with a 12-4 record in the regular season and defeated the Vasey Countrymen in 5 games in the semi-final. Wyevale defeated the Rama Reds in the other semi-final.
