Kiwi born pitcher to be recognised in America

Former Black Sox pitcher Peter Meredith is to be inducted into theInternational Softball Congress Hall of Fame.
Meredith last played for New Zealand at the 1992 World Championshipswhere the Black Sox finished second. Four years later at the 1996 WorldChamps Meredith was on the mound once again this time representing theUntied States.
In New Zealand Meredith played softball for Wellington and Otago whilealso forging a lengthy career playing in America.
When Meredith is inducted into the ISC Hall of Fame next year in Kitchener, ON he willbecome just the third Kiwi to receive the honour following in the footsteps of fellow Black Sox pitchers Kevin Herlihy and Paul Magan.
Another player with the Kiwi connection to be inducted into the ISC Hallof Fame next year is Tim Wahl. The American played four seasons in NewZealand during the 1990’s representing Poneke Kilbirnie and Wellington.
