The International Softball Federation World Men’s Softball Champions are coming to Saskatoon
Â
The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association is proud to be bringing in the 2013 Men’s World Champions from New Zealand. This team will feature all the players that the Kiwis will have available to defend their world title in Saskatoon next year.
Â
They will face some tough local competition including two games against a perennial top 8 club team in the world, the Saskatoon Diamondbacks.  Playing for them will be two players presently on Softball Canada’s National Team Athlete Pool; Brennan Pokoyoway and Devon McCullough along with Trevor Ethier from Canada’s previous World Championship team. Another player looking forward to action will be Jeff Farion, a pitcher for the Delisle National Leasing Diamond Dogs. Jeff is also part of Team Canada’s Athlete pool. The third local team is the Bruno Merchants and they will likely throw a former Team Canada player Justin Dauvin. Depending on availability local fans could see as many 9 past or present Team Canada players in action against this country’s greatest rival.  Â
