theswitchMONEYBALL Organising Committee is pleased to announce Ipswich City Council as the major sponsor for theswitchMONEYBALL Fastpitch Softball Tournament to be held at Ipswich Softball Grounds, Chubb Street, One Mile from October 10-12 2014.

With the best players from Australia and New Zealand attending including the two best pitchers in the world and many of the best hitters, theswitchMONEYBALL’s aim to deliver the largest first prize fastpitch softball tournament in Australian history has been helped greatly with support from Ipswich City Council.

theswitchMONEYBALL will provide innovations in tournament design and delivery and showcase our best talent which goes hand in hand with Ipswich City Council’s recognition of sport and recreation as an integral part of life in Ipswich City. The City has a proud sporting heritage that has produced many sporting champions participating in a wide range of sports.

theswitchMONEYBALL will cater for young and old over the weekend with as much fun off the field as between the lines. There will be free “Aussie Steelers Coaching Clinics†where members of the Australian Open Men’s softball team will be passing on their tips, along with “Master’s Exhibition Games†showcasing our talent from yesteryear over the weekend.

The tournament will also stage the Plus Fitness 24/7 Home Run Contest on the afternoon of Saturday October 11 where many of the biggest hitters will be slugging it out for a $1000 prize. A range of food options will be available along with full bar services and pumping beats all weekend long at the “The Beachâ€, the social hub for the weekend. There will even be free face painting and a jumping castle on the Saturday!
